The Custom Fitment feature allows you to create Year/Make/Model (YMM) integration for your own website or store.
- Best For: Sellers in regions outside the USA/Canada or those selling unique parts not found in standard catalogs.
- Important Note: Fitment data added through this specific tool cannot be submitted to marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, or Walmart. It is exclusively for your internal use and your own website's search function.
Part 1: Adding Master Vehicles (The "Vehicle" Tab)
Before you can attach fitment to parts, you must define which vehicles exist in your database. This is done in the Vehicle tab.
- Navigate: Go to More Features > Custom Fitment
- Select Tab: Click on the Vehicle tab (next to "Upload/Export Fitment").
- Download Template: Click Download Excel Template.
- Fill Data: Open the Excel file and input your vehicle data.
- Mandatory Fields: Year, Make, Model.
- Optional: You can add up to 3 additional attributes (e.g., Submodel, Engine, etc.).
- Action Column: Enter A to add new vehicles.
- Upload: Save the file and upload it back in the "Vehicle" tab.
Result: These vehicles are now stored as "Master Data" in your account. They will now appear in dropdown menus across the site.
Part 2: Assigning Fitment to Parts
Once your vehicles are added, you can link them to your parts. There are two ways to do this:
Option A: Manual Assignment (One-by-One)
Use this method if you want to select vehicles from the dropdowns for specific parts.
- Go to My Parts & Fitment.
- Click on a specific Part Number to open its details.
- Go to the Search Fitment section.
- Use "Search by Year Make Model".
- Note: The dropdown menus here will now populate with the Custom Vehicle data you uploaded in Part 1
- Select the vehicle and click show
- You can view the successfully added data in the Saved Fitments tab for that part.
Option B: Bulk Upload (Multiple Parts & fitment at Once)
Use this method to add fitment for many parts simultaneously using Excel.
- Go to More Features > Custom Fitment.
- Stay on the Upload / Export Fitment tab.
- Download Template: Click Download Excel Template.
- Fill Data: Enter the Part Numbers and the corresponding Vehicle data (Year, Make, Model).
- Upload: Upload the file in the "Step 2: Data Update" section.
- Once processed, this data will be visible in the Saved Fitments tab under My Parts & Fitment.
Part 3: Managing & Updating Data
You can review, update, or delete your custom fitment data at any time.
- Export Data:
- On the Custom Fitment page, click the green Export Custom Fitment button.
- This will download a file containing all your current custom fitments.
- Modify Data (Bulk Action):
- Open the exported Excel file.
- Use the Action column to tell the system what to do:
- A: Add new data.
- U: Update existing data.
- D: Delete data.
- Save and re-upload the file to apply the changes.
Conclusion :
The Custom Fitment feature empowers you to build and manage a personalized vehicle database tailored specifically for your own e-commerce store. It is the ideal solution for sellers operating in international markets (outside the US/Canada) or those dealing with unique inventory not found in standard catalogs.
By giving you full control over Master Vehicle data and Fitment mappings via bulk Excel uploads, PCFitment ensures your website’s search functionality is accurate and comprehensive.
